Consider the Aesthetics of Your New Fence

Consider the Aesthetics of Your New Fence

When it’s time to pick out how your new fence will look, there are some aesthetic choices you will have to keep in mind.

Replacing your current fence isn’t always an easy decision. Just know that it is isn’t something to tackle on your own. When it’s time to pick out how your new fence will look, there are some aesthetic choices you will have to keep in mind. Let’s find out what those are.

The Rest of the Landscape

Think about the landscape that surrounds the rest of your home. That will weigh heavily on how you set up your fence: where you want to put it, how tall it can be, and how secure you want it to be. If you’re surrounded by woods, then it will make a bigger difference than if your home is on a bare patch of land where your closest neighbors are two miles away. If your house is in a more secluded location, then you might want a darker fence to be the icing on the cake. Alternatively, you could choose a new fence feature vinyl latticework to help emphasize how open your home’s property is.

The Color of Your House

Don’t overlook the color of your house’s exterior. This also plays a big role in the choice of your new fence. In keeping with a certain look that you want to preserve, a wooden fence should match the wood shingles on your siding. Painting the fence in several colors at once is eye-popping, but you would want to be careful so you don’t overdo it. If you are trying to do something against the grain, then it’s worth it to consult your HOA, if you have one. That way you can avoid upsetting your neighbors or creating an aesthetic that doesn’t work with the rest of the houses in your neighborhood.

The Size of Your Garden

Spring and summer are the two times of the year where gardens burst into a riot of color. But that doesn’t mean they go completely dormant once fall and winter arrive. In fact, there are some flowers and plants that prefer colder weather. So when you are planning out your new fence, be sure to take the size of your garden into account.
